Digital Storyboard

This is my digital storyboard. I created this as a plan to help with the film opening. I sketched each shot that I was planning to film for the opening. However I may make some possible changes when going through the filming process. 

Location

LOCATION

The opening of my film includes scenes at two locations. The beginning shots are taken at Alexandra palace. I chose this location because of the view and historical building seemed to be a suitable location to start the opening with an establishing shot of the landscape.

The second location I chose to film the next scene was Cherry Tree woods. The reason for choosing this location was because the dark lighting in he woods and trees was good setting to reflect the horror genre.

Then starts with typography “once upon a time” typed. 

The beginning of the film starts with 8 minutes of the opening where the setting is introduced and three characters.

What is a Horror?

A horror film is a genre that aims to create a sense of fear and fright for the audience. Therefore thee films rely of frightening the audience. Generally horror movies are set in dark isolated places such as empty houses, woods and abandoned ghost towns. Lighting is always most important in a horror film because this sets different moods.

After research on film genres I have come to the conclusion to create my film based around the genre horror.  I decided this because horror seems to be more creative and open for lots of ideas.

The woman in black is about a lawyer Arthur Kipps who still grieves the death of his beloved wife Stella on the delivery of their son Joseph four years ago. His employer gives him a last chance to keep his job, and he is assigned to travel to a village of Cryphin Gifford to examine the documentation of the Eel Marsh House that belonged to the recently deceased Mrs. Drablow. Arthur goes to the isolated manor and soon he finds that Eel Marsh House is haunted by the ghost of a woman dressed in black. He also learns that the woman lost her son drowned in the marsh and she seeks revenge, taking the children of the scared locals.
