Who would be the audience for your media product?

Order of my titles

I have chose these titles from the similar films I researched. I began the order of my film titles with the film institute. As the in most films shown the film institution is shown at the beginning of the film.

2. TRUTH-    This is my film title and I decided to put this after the film company because I wanted to address the film title before the beginning of the film.

4. Jessica Chatstain- this is an actress chosen from another similar film

9. Writer Chad Hayes- this is the writer of the film Mama. I chose this writer because of the similar storyline.

There are unfortunately a small amount of titles used in my film opening due to the shirt time of my film opening.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have learnt to use some of the media technologies and software's through the planning and tasks done in media lessons. We began practising filming, angles and shots. This was using a video camera. These tasks helped with the practice of using the equipment such as the tripod and camera as it helped prepare for the planning and filming of the opening. Through the process of filming I learnt to use final cut express. This is an editing software on the Mac pc. Thought completing the life on mars task and continuity exercise this helped myself familiarise the tools on the software.

During the process of the filming I used equipment browed from school. This was the camera and tripod. The camera was simple to handle and understand the features. For editing I used the Mac pc using the programs final cut express and imovie. I also used an SD card reader to save my recorded film clips onto and then transfer to the computer.



Directors Commentary

This is my directors commentary where i have spoken over my film opening and analysing parts of the opening such as camera work. I have also discussed how my character is represented.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

A film distributor is a company responsible for the marketing of a film.

The film institution I chose was Columbia pictures. A reason why decided to use this film institution because I decided Columbia pictures best suited my film. Columbia pictures is an American production. The film institution is well known in the film industry. It is owned by Sony entertainment. 

Here are a few of the films Columbia pictures has been a production institute for in 2010.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

 

My main character is a young female. She is represented as being very vulnerable. She is introduced in the opening as being in danger as she is seen as lost in the woods. Her character is not introduced and she speaks no dialogue. This suggests she is lost and her voice will not be herd. The young female character represents females as vulnerable.

Digital Storyboard

This is my digital storyboard. I created this as a plan to help with the film opening. I sketched each shot that I was planning to film for the opening. However I may make some possible changes when going through the filming process. 

Location

LOCATION

The opening of my film includes scenes at two locations. The beginning shots are taken at Alexandra palace. I chose this location because of the view and historical building seemed to be a suitable location to start the opening with an establishing shot of the landscape.

The second location I chose to film the next scene was Cherry Tree woods. The reason for choosing this location was because the dark lighting in he woods and trees was good setting to reflect the horror genre.

What is a Horror?

A horror film is a genre that aims to create a sense of fear and fright for the audience. Therefore thee films rely of frightening the audience. Generally horror movies are set in dark isolated places such as empty houses, woods and abandoned ghost towns. Lighting is always most important in a horror film because this sets different moods.

After research on film genres I have come to the conclusion to create my film based around the genre horror.  I decided this because horror seems to be more creative and open for lots of ideas.

The woman in black is about a lawyer Arthur Kipps who still grieves the death of his beloved wife Stella on the delivery of their son Joseph four years ago. His employer gives him a last chance to keep his job, and he is assigned to travel to a village of Cryphin Gifford to examine the documentation of the Eel Marsh House that belonged to the recently deceased Mrs. Drablow. Arthur goes to the isolated manor and soon he finds that Eel Marsh House is haunted by the ghost of a woman dressed in black. He also learns that the woman lost her son drowned in the marsh and she seeks revenge, taking the children of the scared locals.

A little girl called Annabel had dies in the house this was known as the Annabel case, the women believe the doll which belonged to Annabel was possessed by the spirit of Annabel.

A terrible tragedy leaves two young girls stranded alone in a desolate cabin in the woods. Five years later the girls are found and having had no human contact in the interim are now wild and feral. Their uncle gains custody and, with his girlfriend, takes the two girls in, not realizing that these children do not come alone.
